GeneSeas is responsible for a restoration
program of native species in 10 hydroelectric
power plants of
AES Tietê S.A. in the State of
São Paulo.
To assure efficiency, GeneSeas has
also developed a genetic handling program
directed to its brood stocks in partnership
with universities and research centers.
2.5 million native species, such as Pacu,
Curimbatá, Dourado, Tabarana, Lambari, Piapara
and Piracanjuba ( 8 to 10 cm long ) are
grown and released in the attempt to solve
the problems of overfishing and maintain
the natural stocks of fish.
